10/27/2012: 30 days ago we started on the construction of the second kiln, it is loaded and running with 4000 bf of lumber! We still have couple days work outside to finish it but at least it is loaded and drying.
10/24/2012: The 2013 Bagdad Lumber Girl calendar's are in! Calendar sells for $15.00 of free with $500 lumber purchase.
10/24/2012: Red Oak and Cherry coming out of Kiln first thing in the morning. 2000 bf of cedar 4/4 ready to go and a lot of 8/4 cedar ready.
10/20/2012: Cherry and Red Oak and a few slabs in kiln will come out either 10/23 or 10/24, Sawed over 2000 bf of cedar today.
10/14/2012: Got kiln unloaded and sold 3 of the cherry slabs right out of the kiln! Loaded Red Oak and Cherry in kiln, Maple was to wet. So more red oak and Cherry in couple of weeks.
10/12/2012: Unloading kiln tomorrow morning, 4/4 poplar, 8/4 poplar and several slabs with live edges. Construction of second kiln is well under way, hopefully will have it loaded and running within two weeks.
10/09/2012: The Bagdad Lumber Girl calendar's are in the printing shop right now and will probably be ready in couple of weeks. These will be for sale or free for a certain size lumber order, details to follow.
10/09/2012: Been a little rough at Bagdad Lumber, Saw broke down but it is fixed now. The new kiln is waiting on electrician before we can go any further, which should happen tomorrow. BUT we had a semi truck load of poplar, white oak, maple, walnut delivered yesterday. Tomorrow we will be sawing red oak and couple of custom saw jobs. Maple and cherry in the kiln next, probably around Thursday or Friday.
10/03/2012: Sold all the Maple, Sycamore and White Oak over the last few days! 4/4 and 8/4 Maple will go in the kiln next week, sawed 500 bf of White Oak yesterday.
10/01/2012: Well the rain has messed up the construction of the new kiln, so we got back to sawing. Today we sawed maple all day and tomorrow more cedar, then white and red oak. The load in the kiln probably ready around the first of next week.
09/28/2012: Red Oak and Coffee Tree is out of Kiln and ready! More cherry and large slabs loaded in kiln. Construction is under way on the second kiln, structure is framed up and hopefully shingles on roof by end of weekend.
9/22/2012: We're back from WI and working back at the mill.
09/20/2012: We're on our way to WI to pick up our next kiln unit so the mill will be closed until Saturday morning. We poured the concrete slab yesterday for the new kiln and managed to saw up 2000 bf of 4/4 maple and 500 bf of 8/4 maple. The Red Oak and Coffee Tree in kiln now looking good but it's probably going to be first of next week when ready.
09/14/2012: Sawing Maple and working on new kiln. Red Oak and Coffee tree in kiln probably will be done around the 22nd to 24th of this month.
09/10/2012: Another day at Bagdad Lumber, Forklift quit, something with transmission. We called the real mechanic on this one.
09/10/2012: We also started construction on the second "new" kiln which will do 4000bf twice a month.
09/10/2012: Walnut and Cherry and little 2" red and white oak out of Kiln and Coffee Tree and Red Oak loaded now and cooking!
09/06/2012: The walnut and cherry in the kiln will come out "probably" Monday and Coffee Tree and Red oak will go in next.
09/06/2012: Sawed more 4/4 walnut and had a custom saw job for some 2.5" thick cherry 16' long.
09/04/2012: We are putting in another kiln, construction to start this week.
09/04/2012: Sawed 1000 bf of 8/4 Walnut now sawing on more maple. The last bit of maple is about gone.
09/02/2012: Sawing some Cherry "Crotch" pieces. Next we're going to saw 8/4 walnut and then we have to start on building the other kiln.
08/29/2012: We are back at the mill today, sawing more cherry. Walnut and Cherry coming out of kiln tomorrow morning, most of it is 4/4 there is little 8/4 cherry in there.
08/26/2012: Sunday we are making a 2013 "Bagdad Lumber" GIRL calendar! Girls we know with photo's taken here with our tools and equipment. The last of the photo's where taken today.
08/25/2012: Sawed 1000 bf of 8/4 cherry and 1000 bf of 4/4 cherry.
